Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk is a documentary about life in Gaza, filmed through video calls between director Sepideh Farsi and Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassona, who was tragically killed in an Israeli airstrike just after the film's selection at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The film combines their digital dialogue with Hassona's photographs to show daily life, loss, and acts of resistance amid escalating violence, offering an intimate portrait of the besieged city and honoring Hassona's legacy.

Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, created through smartphone video calls with Gaza-based photojournalist Fatma Hassona. Director Sepideh Farsi describes the film as a response to the ongoing massacre in Gaza, with Hassona serving as her "eyes" to document the war from within the "Gaza prison". The director emphasizes the creation of an intimate, almost mother-daughter relationship that captured Hassona's resilience and will to survive. The film serves not just as a witness to the conflict but as an ode to Fatma and many other innocent victims of the ongoing campaign in Gaza, with its tragic meaning further cemented by Hassona's death in an Israeli airstrike shortly after the film's selection for Cannes.
