A Family is the second feature film by director Mees Peijnenburg, starring Finn Vogels as Eli and Celeste Holsheimer as Nina. Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones, Black Book, Instinct) plays their mother Maria, alongside Belgian actor Pieter Embrechts (Instinct, Stromboli, The Balloonist) as their father Jacob.Caught in the turmoil of their parents’ separation, Nina and Eli retreat into their own worlds, torn between loyalty, anger, and a longing to be seen.
Through two mirrored perspectives, a single story unfolds—one that shows how love can fracture, yet still find its way back home. A Family had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention in the Generation section.
