Calle Malaga is the moving new film by Maryam Touzani (The Blue Caftan) about nostalgia, belonging, and rediscovering yourself later in life. It is a tender portrait of a woman who refuses to be diminished.
Calle Malaga won the Audience Award at the Venice Film Festival. Actress Carmen Maura became famous as Pedro Almodóvar’s muse and appeared in many of his early films. As Deadline wrote, the film is “a lovely ode to growing old but not giving in to age, to living life as it is meant to be lived – on your own terms.”
