Gerrie Molendijk has lived in Portugal for some time, but every year he travels to Rotterdam for three days for a routine check-up because of his COPD. He stays with his stepdaughter and during the day spends time with his son Dick, who often struggles to navigate the world around him. Dick hopes to reconcile with his father, but their relationship is one of few words and so father and son never seem to fully understand each other.
